My First Fashion Post

Can we all say "awwww" to my very first fashion post? :) What a huge moment for me. Ok, not really. :P

As long as I can remember, I have loved clothing. My mom says when I was young I could tell you where I got every piece of clothing (most of which were hand-me-downs from friends), and I would always want to wear certain pieces. This love continued into my teenage years. My sense of style started off, well... wacky. And not the good kind of wacky. I look back just a couple of years and think, "What was I on when I decided to wear that??" (And I'm sure many people still feel this way about my style). What I have learned from watching hours of What Not To Wear and Project Runway is that, what is "in style" and "fashionable" might not always be what's in YOUR style. I have learned to wear what I love, what I feel good in, and what lifts me up. I don't necessarily follow all trends. Some I hate (like maxi dresses and body con). And some I love (bright colors, peplums). I also hoard clothing. I literally have stuff I've had for 6 years, and stuff I bought today. This is because, as soon as I decide to get rid of something, I always think of an outfit that would look great with it. Therefore, I don't get rid of clothes. So, without further ado, here is my fist outfit I am posting about on this blog.

Ok, so first, sorry the pictures are kind of pose-y and one is in black and white. These are some of my senior pictures, but I loved this outfit! Second, can I just say, isn't teal and purple the BEST color combo ever?? I love it! This shirt is amazing. It is teal, it has pink and purple flowers on it. It also has some lighter teal polka-dots in the background and some black bows printed on it. Pretty much sums me up in a shirt. (Plus, doesn't the teal make my eyes look amazing?) And this purple pencil skirt? Goodness, its amazing! (It has since been slightly altered to add length to make sure its completely appropriate for my college dress standards.)
