And The World's Worst Blogger Award Goes To...

I truly am sorry, blog world. I am a horrible blogger. I feel like my blog should be taken away.

So, I am now 20. No more being a crazy teenager for me. I'm pretty bummed out, actually. I feel just so old. Anyways, not much exciting about that.

So these past few weeks have been great! October is my favorite! I LOVE dressing up for Halloween! It's been fun to put together costumes from the limited amount of clothing I had left in the clothing challenge. (Which ends this week! I have my Halloween costume tomorrow, and one more skirt, then I'm out of bottoms!) I have come up with some pretty creative ensembles!

I've also been on dates, (well date, really), and have been writing letters to my favorite missionary! (To all my missionary, or soon-to-be-missionary friends, I promise, you are all not far behind him! You are all fantastic people! I promise I like you all as well!) Mondays are my favorite day, because it's P-day and that means I can email Elder Rogers! The other week, he sent me a song he and his companions preformed/wrote (well, they wrote parts of it). It is awesome! If I ever find a way to put it on this blog, I will for sure! So last week, I sent Jake a picture of me in one of my Halloween costumes with my friend. He showed his old companion who though I was attractive and wanted me to write him. Jake told me not to. So of course, I had to! :P Well, he wrote me back, which I wasn't expecting. Jake also told me that he got a voice mail from him saying he had something super important to tell Jake. When Jake called him back, he just said that I had written him. Haha! Well, that's pretty funny, I think, even if you don't.

Want to hear another funny story? I'm kinda hesitant to put this on my blog. I don't know who reads it! But here it goes: So there is this thing, apparently, the way you put the stamp on a letter means different things. My roommate told me this, and she only knew that putting it upside-down means "I love you". So as a joke (mostly...) I've been putting my stamps on my letters upside-down, just to see if Jake would notice. Up until the most recent letter, he hasn't said anything. In this letter he asked me why I did that. With a smiley face. Which, for him, could mean he knows what it means. Or it could mean that he doesn't and that he just decided to put a smiley face even though he never does that while writing. Ever. Also, his stamp was placed diagonally to the right. I had to look up what that means. Any guesses? It means: "Will you marry me?" I'm guessing he doesn't know what that means, or if he does, he's just being silly and seeing if I know. Either way, his next letter is getting a stamp placed diagonally to the left. You can guess for yourself what that means. So, who knows, in another week I could be engaged! (I am 100% completely, totally, definitely kidding, by the way. I am not getting engaged to someone I won't see for 20 months when there are so many attractive RM's all around me here in Provo! Also, that would just be wrong to be engaged to a missionary.) (Yes, I am a waiter hater. Ok, not hater, but disliker. Seriously, let him focus on the Lord for two years. Also, don't just sit around for two years! Get to know people! Go on dates! For reals, though, don't shut yourself off from the world.)(Disclaimer: Just to make it 100% clear, I am not, nor was I ever dating Jake. He is seriously one of my best friends, who I just happen to really like. I am not "waiting" for him. Sorry I write about him and talk about him a lot. But we always have been just friends. Ok? Ok. Hope that clears up things.)

Well, back to some more normal (Ha! Me normal? That's funny!) stuff. This month, I found out that I got in to the Advertising Program here at the Y! It really is a difficult major to get in to. I seriously am so excited to start! I've had a few meetings already, and each time, I get more and more excited! Fun Fact: In the advertising program, we actually work with real clients in our classes. Our projects are not just for a grade, they are pitched to clients! How freakin awesome is that?! So cool! I can't wait to start next semester! :)

Well, it's getting late, and I need my beauty sleep for Halloween tomorrow!
Peace out, homies!

My acceptance letter for the advertising program!

Jake in the tie that I made for him!

Me in Halloween costume #1: Flapper. Also, Bane.

Flapper again.

Halloween costume #2: Audrey Hepburn

Breakfast at Tiffany's. Also, the most "like"ed profile picture I think I've ever had on Facebook.

Halloween Costume #3: Princess. Yes, I know this is almost exactly what I wore to Prom, ok? Get over it. I'm a Princess.
This is the video I made as part of my application for the advertising program. :)

Oh, Hi There

Well, I just want to let you all know that I am alive. :) I have been super busy the last coupe of weeks, so that is why I haven't been blogging. I pinky promise that I will try to be better. I really enjoy sharing my life with you, I just don't have the time!
These past few weeks have included synchronized swimming, applications, work, school, friends, friends, friends, broken phones, dressing up like pirates, and creative outfits. My clothing challenge is going strong! It's been interesting to try to plan out outfits. I need to take into consideration the weather, how many Sundays there are, what I'm going to be doing the whole day, and if I really want to wear something or if I want to save it for later.
I am absolutely loving this year so far. My ward is crazy awesome! I am excited to get to know them all even better!
Well, when I get around to it, I will post outfit pictures. (I've only missed pictures a couple of days, when my phone was broken.)
See ya!

Tomorrow's The Day!

So tomorrow is a pretty big day. I am starting my sophomore year at BYU, and I am starting my clothing challenge!

So here are the rules (and exceptions) I have set for myself.
1) Well, there is really only one rule: don't repeat articles of clothing (shirts, skirts, shorts, pants, dresses, cardigans, blazers, legggings, tights)!
Exceptions: if the outfit I am currently wearing is inappropriate for an activity I need to do (like if I'm going hiking (haha, yeah right.) or going on a date (haha, yeah right again) or something) The unique outfit must be worn for a majority of the day, though.

Ok, well here I though this was going to be this long, extravagant post, and it's super short.

Oh well.

I need to go to bed now!

Good Night friends! And if anyone is starting school tomorrow, good luck!

:)

Wearing Wednesday (A day late)

So, I haven't really taken outfit pictures since I've been here in Utah. I took some today, but I'm not loving my outfit as much as I thought I did when I put it on this morning. I don't know what it is.

Here are some pictures from a few weeks ago! That day I saw Hairspray, to be exact! I absolutely loved this outfit! I know I've worn it before and I'll wear it again. It's that good. :)

What I'm Wearing:
Shirt: Charlotte Russe
Pants: Forever 21
Necklace: made from an old shirt from K-Momo
Bracelet: gift from Grandma from Jerusalem
Shoes: Payless

I love this necklace! I wear it so often and always get compliments on it! It was the easiest DIY ever! I will post before and after pictures sometime! :)

Catching Up on Stuff...

So, I've been pretty busy as of late. What with packing up my life and moving to Utah. Can I just say, I'd much rather pack things than unpack. For serious. Unpacking takes so long! You have to figure out where everything is going to go, make sure you don't take up too much space since you are sharing it with three other girls, and then re-organize everything because you don't like where you put it the first time. When you pack, you know where everything is going: in the suitcase. So easy!

So, since my last real post, (I don't count that last post), I was nominated for a Liebster Award! Basically, you get nominated, then you nominate more people, then the nominate people and so on! Its a great way to get the word out on newer and smaller blogs! I was nominated by Sara at de l'Etoile, who, by the way, is super sweet and adorable not only on her blog, but also in person!

So the rules to this award are:
1. Link back to the person who nominated you.
2. List 11 facts about yourself.
3. Answer the 11 questions posted by the person who nominated you.
4. Nominate up to 11 bloggers who have 200 followers or less.
5. Ask your nominees 11 new questions.

So for my 11 random facts:
1- I don't like milk. At all. Not even with cereal. (And no, I do not eat cereal with water, I just don't eat it.)
2- I can play guitar. Kinda. I'm teaching myself some songs on guitar.
3- I wish I wasn't so lazy. But I seriously have no self motivation. Its pretty bad.
4- I work well under pressure. I can procrastinate, because when I do, I get things done.
5- I miss performing. I used to perform all the time with Synchronized Swimming and Color Guard, but now, I have nothing to perform, and I'm sad.
6- I have only been to 5 states. I don't consider that very many. (The are Arizona, Utah, Nevada, California, and Florida)
7- I have only been out of the country on Cruises. And those were only to Mexico, which is on the same continent at the US, so I don't think its very exciting.
8- Idealistically, I like older guys. But in reality, I've like a lot of younger guys. I guess I'm a cougar in more ways than one! ;) (Get it? Cuz I go to BYU, and I tend to like younger guys!? Haha!)
9- Upon meeting me, people usually think I'm really, off-puttingly, weird. But if they get to know me, people think I'm even weirder, but love me for it.
10- As weird and outgoing as I am, I don't like talking to people I don't know. I love it when people I don't know talk to me, though, I just don't like initiating it. I don't know why, it just happens.
11- My favorite food is Lobster. I have expensive tastes. :P

Next, the questions Sara asked!
1. What do you like to do for fun? I sew, try to teach myself guitar, go on Facebook and Pinterest, watch TV (Big Bang Theory is my favorite), and yeah.
2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? Married. Maybe with a kid. Living on the beach in Australia. (Ok, that last part is just a fantasy...)
3. What is your biggest pet peeve? I have a lot. One is when I'm playing Dominion and the cards aren't lined up right, or they are the wrong way in the deck. Another is being single. :P
4. If you had to pick one piece of clothing to wear in every single outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be? Can I pick a bra, or is that cheating? ;) If not, I'd pick a white cami. You could wear that with anything.
5. Do you have a favorite hangout spot? Uhmmm... in Arizona, my house was the hang out spot. last year, I liked hanging out in the Tanner Building playing games and watching movies. I don't have one for this year yet.
6. First ten people you'd invite to your Fantasy Dinner Party? Joe Jonas, Zac Efron, James Marsden, Shane Harper, Taylor Lautner, Ricky Ullman, Logan Lerman, Ryan Gosling, Some cute Australian guy, Danny Phantom (yes, the cartoon. This is fantasy, right?)
7. Favorite Olympic sport? No brainer- Synchronized Swimming!
8. Skirts, pants, or rompers? Skirts
9. Do you relate better to your mom or your dad? Well, I tend to get along better with my mom now that I'm all grown up. But I'm kinda a daddy's girl at heart, even though I might not seem like it.
10. Favorite color combination? Purple and Teal! (Especially with my red hair!)
11. Where do you shop at most often? Saver's. No doubt. I am addicted.

Ok, so here is where I nominate people. But here's the deal, I don't know very many blogs with less than 200 followers. I just don't. so for right now, I am nominating one person! Olivia at Headed Somewhere Happy! (If I want to nominate more people, I will update here!)
So Olivia, here are your questions, my dear!
1. What is your favorite color to wear?
2. If you could only listen to three songs for the rest of your life, what would you listen to?
3. Would you rather travel to a beach or a forest?
4. What is your ideal weather?
5. Who is your role model?
6. What would be your last meal if you were on death row? (Not that you'd ever be on death row...)
7. What is your favorite book series?
8. What cool things would be included in your dream home?
9. What is your favorite (cheesy) pick-up line?
10. If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
11. What is your favorite number, and why?

Anyways, now that I am all settled in Provo, I am really wanting roommates. Haley came down to Provo to visit me today! Ok, so not just to visit me, but she probably stayed as long as she did because of me! :P We switched one of the beds in out room with one of the beds in the other room, and let me tell ya, that one little move added soooo much extra space to our room! (Our room, which is smaller came with beds that have huge wooden frames and headboards. The other room just had normal metal frames and boxsprings. With the switch, we can now have both of the beds in our room up against a wall instead of having one stick out into the middle of the room! And the other room doesn't have to change their set up at all! Win/win for everyone!) We also went to campus for to buy text books and eat lunch. Then we chilled out in our apartment until Haley had to go home. Goodness, I missed her! She and Julianne both move in Friday! I am so excited to see Julianne! These girls are seriously the bomb! (I don't ever use the phrase "the bomb" but it just seemed to fit.)

In other news, I discovered that I can, with my current wardrobe make 50+ outfits without repeating a single piece of clothing (not including shoes. I have a lot, but not quite that many). So, I am going to try something out. Starting Tuesday, when classes start, I will wear outfits without repeating an article of clothing until I run out. I'm thinking I will run out of bottoms long before I run out of tops. I should be able to get through October. Let's see how this goes... (I will try to get a picture every day. Key word, TRY.)

Ok, and lastly, it's YouTube Tuesday! So here ya go. This is embarrassing. But yeah. It happened.
And that my dear friends is what happens when white, Mormon girls try to rap.

Has it really been this long since I posted?

Hey, I don't know why I haven't posted in a while. Really, I have no excuse. And I'm sorry.

This isn't going to be a very long post, but I want to inform you I'm in Provo! I guess I was busy at home packing and getting ready to move into an apartment (not a dorm!) for the first time. Also, I had to get together with friends for the last time and such. So that is my excuse.

I am loving my apartment. It's older, but we have new couches (thank goodness, some other apartments have the old ones still and they are hideous!), a newer microwave and oven, and everything seems to be in working order. :P One roommate is moved in, but in California for the week. Haley and Julianne are moving in this week! (I am so freaking excited it's not even funny!) I'm not completely alone because my roommates friend is staying here in her place for the week until she can move into her apartment in Idaho.

I have way too much stuff and I feel like I have taken over the whole apartment. I mean I'm kinda the only one here, so I'm sure once everyone else gets there stuff here, I won't feel like I've taken over.

I'm also really excited to have the rest of my wardrobe back. :)

Yeah, so hopefully a lot more outfits will be coming.
But we'll see.
I might be too busy for that kind of stuff.
But probably not.
:)

Oh, and by the way, I am now a red-head again. I feel more normal with red hair than with my natural brownish-blonde.

Wearing Wednesday- Nicest Kid in Town

So this outfit I wore on Sunday. The day after I saw Hairspray at the Hale Theatre. If you couldn't tell, I was heavily influenced by that show. ;)

(Never mind my derp face. I don't know what inspired that brilliance...)

But seriously, don't I look like I could just pop right on into the early sixties? (I mean, the pattern I used for my dress was a vintage style pattern, so it should fit right in!)

I did make the dress I'm wearing. I love it, but the top doesn't quite fit right. The shoulders are too big, and I added the sleeves even though the dress was sleeveless. Until I get around to altering it, a cardigan over it covers the mess nicely and adds to the vintage vibe.

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Made by me!
Cardigan: Charlotte Russe
Sash: Off of an old dress
Pearls and Cameo: Grandma
Shoes: Kohl's

YouTube Tuesday...of the Future!

So a couple of weeks ago, I found the most amazing thing to ever be on YouTube. EVER.

I found the entirety of episodes of Phil of the Future.

And now I am sharing this love with you.

If this doesn't scream childhood/preteenhood to you, we can no longer be friends.

Ok, we can, but only if you promise to watch them all now.

Besides, Ricky Ullman is gorgeous.

So here is the first episode, but you can find the rest in a playlist on YouTube.

You are welcome, dear readers.

The Only Thing Better Than HAIRSPRAY....

...is absolutely nothing. I seriously love that musical more than life! (Ok, ok, not more than life, but it's up there  pretty high on the list...)

The Hale Centre Theatre (fancy spelling, huh?) in Gilbert has Hairspray playing there now. I worked at this theater for two and a half years, and I've seen my fair share of shows there. Each one is great! Never a disappointment! But Hairspray, that is another story.

Hairspray is one of my favorite movies ever, and I begged and begged and BEGGED the theater to do it all while I worked there. They told me "No, we wouldn't ever do Hairspray." So last year, when I found out they would be doing Hairspray, I literally squealed with excitement! And now, a year later, I finally got to see it. One of my dreams come true, actually. (Although, I would still love to see it on Broadway, but then again, I'd love to see anything on Broadway...)

Let me just say this: It was the best show I have seen at the Hale Centre Theatre. I might have a slight bias, but it was absolutely incredible! I had a huge smile on my face the entire time, and I sang along to every song! (Some people in the cast even commented on that. :P) The costumes were perfect, the lights and sounds were spectacular. I literally had goosebumps from the time the first line of the opening number was sang. Even just thinking about it is making me excited!

If you live in or near Gilbert, GO SEE HAIRSPRAY! Seriously, just do it. It is sooooo worth it!

Do you SEE that happiness? That is genuine, right there.
In conclusion, go see Hairspray. And take me with you. Ok? Ok.

5 Things Friday

Well, hello world!
Today, I planned on making a skirt, altering a dress, and making a tie. Instead, I took my brothers to the high school to figure out where all there classes would be, got visited by my adorable cousin, went on a daddy-daughter date to Carl's Jr. for some low-carb burgers (we went on his motorcycle, which is my favorite way to go places with him), and got to see my aunt who made a surprise visit to AZ with her boys!

Now, I don't really know what to do for my "5 things" today....

(10 minutes later) Ok got it.

Five Places I Would Rather Be Than Gilbert, Arizona  Right Now:

5: A Cruise Ship

If you know me, you know I love cruises. A lot. And seeing pics of one of my friends on a cruise is really making me jealous.

4: Hogwarts

Uhhh, does this even need an explanation?

3: Disneyland

Its the Happiest Place on Earth, right? :)

2: Provo
I am yearning to go back! I seriously love that place!

and last but not least...

1: Australia

I am obsessed with Australia. I want to go there soooooooo incredibly bad! Will someone please take me there?

Now, I don't want you to think that I hate Arizona. Ok, I do hate Arizona. But I don't hate the people IN Arizona. Seriously, if it wasn't so dang hot, I would live here my whole life. But I like beaches. And snow. And being able to go outside without instantly sweating. And yes, I realize that beaches and snow don't really go together, but I love them both. And Gilbert has zero of those things.

Just a couple more weeks until I go back to Provo, though! Yay, yay, YAY!

"That One Time" Thursday

So, I decided to change Thursday from "Thoughtful Thursday" to "That One Time" Thursday. Big change, I know! *Sarcasm*

That One Time I got asked if I am pregnant.

This evening, I walked into work, went back and clocked in, came out and started straightening. A few minutes later, the lone customer was ready to be checked out. I went up to the register, typed in my employee ID and password, and stared ringing up the clothes. The lady was making small talk with me, and I was politely answering. She told me about how she was buying clothes for her niece, but soon she'd have to start buying boy clothes because she's getting a nephew soon. That's when it happened.
Lady: "So, are you pregnant too, then?"
Me: "No..."
*Awkward silence*
For the rest of the transaction, she didn't say a word to me until I told her she could swipe her card and asked if she wanted a printed copy of her receipt.
For the rest of the night, I sucked in my gut as much as I could.
Then I came home and ate hot wings.
Don't worry, hot wings are low carb.

BTW, this is the second time I have been asked if I was pregnant. At least I didn't cry this time. (I could have sworn I posted about the other time on my blog, but I guess I didn't. Long story short, a lady asked if I was preggo. Too short? Long story medium, I needed some Dr. Pepper, so I went to the gas station to get some before class. As I was paying for my liquid heaven, the sales lady asked me when I was due. I quietly said "I'm not." We finished my transaction in silence, and as I left the gas station, I started crying. Later I called my mom and now I can laugh about it.)

Mixing Things Up

Well, I am mixing things up today on Kai Leigh Bow. I am going to do a fashion post today, because over on one of my favorite blogs, they are having a Link-up, and I thought I would link up! The link-up party is about wearing one piece in many ways. I love being able to mix things up, and I never buy something unless I know for sure a few different ways I can wear it.

The piece I chose to showcase today is a basic everyone probably has. Literally, you have this piece in your dresser or closet or wherever you keep clothes. It is a black t-shirt.

See? Super basic black tee. Which is totally not like me at all, but yet, it is. I have three different ways to wear a black tee on here, but there are probably a million and a half others. If you don't already have one, find a black t-shirt that you like. You might want a scoop neck or have it looser fitting. Pick one that works for you. I love this one, and it is from Wet Seal. It is soft and comfortable, and fits great. And it was $5! (Definitely worth it.) I also have it in blue, which is almost as great as black.
When I go for a neutral, I tend to go for black over white. I cannot be trusted with white. Black is better for me and my clumsy self.

Outfit 1:

For this outfit, I paired the black shirt with a pair of colored skinnies, a bold necklace and ring, and some black sandals. I love the zipper detail in the necklace, and this color of jeans is one of my favorites! But it could work with any color of jeans, and any other bold accessories and look just as cute!

Outfit 2:

For this less casual look, I added a blue blazer (I might, as of recent, have a slight blazer obsession. I am pretty sure I have 8 of them,) printed skinny jeans (unfortunately, the zipper on these pants broke. But I am too cheap to replace the jeans and to lazy to replace the zipper. I plan on adding snaps or something, but for now, I just wear long shirts to cover the always-down fly,) and purple accessories. This could work with any kind or color of  jacket, and if you're not into little heart-polka-dots, then plain jeans would work too. Use a bright color to keep the outfit from looking too dark.

Outfit 3:

This last look is something I would definitely, 100%, without a doubt wear to church! The skirt is bright and fun (I have an almost identical one in turquoise) and the cardigan pulls it all together. If I remember correctly, this is my first printed cardigan. Which, seeing as I have more cardigans than I can count, is pretty shocking. Also, isn't my key necklace amazing? No, I do not know what the key is from, my mom found it in a box of stuff so I put it on a chain with a bow. This would work with any color skirt and coordinating cardigan.

Now, I know these pictures aren't great and that my room is a mess (I did this at around midnight last night), but I hope someone out there benefits from this re-mix. Its fun to see how many great outfits you can make with something as simple as a black t-shirt.

(In fact, I saw a lady today wearing a black shirt, cobalt blue jeans, and metallic shoes, and I thought about this post.)

Anyway, I don't know if anyone is here from Audrey's blog, but if you are, you should stick around. :) I think I'm a pretty cool person, although I could probably win the "worst blogger of the year" award if there was one.

Wait, is there one?

I sure hope not....

Anyway, peace out!

Five Friday: Five Reasons Why Today was a Good Day

Today, while pretty boring at first, ended up being a pretty good day. Here's why:

5: I got to have a water balloon fight! The balloons were purple. And they hurt when you threw them. And the grass was itchy and I have like a bajillion bug bites now, but I was with my friends, so it was fun.

4: I ate dinner at Zupa's! If you haven't gone, you should. It is pretty pricey for what you get, but it is delicious, so sometimes its ok to splurge. Granted I only had a salad, which they greatly under dress, so I basically had lettuce with a couple of bites of chicken and some olives (which, besides the lettuce were the most prominent part of the salad) and in some bites I could taste the ranch or guacamole. (Don't be fooled, their sandwiches and soups are WAY better than their salads, but the diet doesn't allow for bread or some stuff that's in the soup.) But they have diet Dr. Pepper, so dinner was excellent!

3: I finished the first season of Jane by Design. Ok, so that's acutally a sad thing, because that is the only season on Netflix. But, that means I have to try to find a new show to watch. I started New Girl, but if anyone has any suggestions for me that have more than one season on Netflix, hook a girl up, please!

2: I got to go swimming! I love swimming. Really, swimming is my favorite! Especially swimming in the ocean, with the waves! :) (By the way, I did not swim in an ocean today.... just a pool, but it is still fun!)

1: And the number one reason today was great......*drumrooooooolllllllllllllllllll* I got a letter from JAKE!!!!! It was short and written in cursive (yes, CURSIVE), but it means the world to me! He told me he liked the package, and he wore the tie the next day, AND got a compliment on it. :D (Being the designer of that tie, it means the world to me. And by designer, I mean I picked out fabric and sewed it. But still, designer.) He didn't really have time to tell me a whole lot, but it's ok, because I read the emails he sends his family, which they post on his blog. But now I can FINALLY write him again. My dad told me I was being weird, writing him every week, which I disagree with but whatever... So I am going to write him ASAP! :)

So that, ladies and gentlemen (do any gentlemen even read this?), is why today was ultimately, a good day.
Peace Out!

Seriously, ever.

Here it is...

Watch it. Love it. Go "awwww". Because it is just amazing.

Peace Out.

Fitness Moment Monday

So, I have noticed a lot of my clothes have been getting a little tight, or completely not fitting, recently. Ok, not super recently, but since I started up at BYU. Everyone always talks about the Freshman 15, and when your eating choices are minimal, and not very healthy, it definitely happens. In fact, since high school (so a summer, 2 semesters at the Y, and half of a summer) I have gained weight. 20 pounds of it, in fact. Now, you all know how much I love clothes, so since my wardrobe is slowly dwindling from being too small, I have decided to do something. And more than just maybe go to the gym once a week.

I decided this last night, and this morning I weighed myself and took some measurements. I am going to write down my goal weight and measurements next to it, and hopefully before I go back up to BYU next month (it feels soooo good to say next month, I miss Provo!) I will be able to fit back in all my clothes.

To do this, I have a short crunches/push-ups/plank/squat routine to do every day, plus I'm going to go to a class at the gym or play Just Dance (hey, if you do the workout mode, its actually not a bad cardio and arm workout) for an hour every day. (Sunday is the exception to this "every day" thing.)

Now this is the part I want no comments on. I don't want anyone lecturing me on health crap, or telling me that this is bad. I am also going to do Low-Carb for the rest of the summer. (Please note, low carb is not NO carb. I realize that our bodies do need some carbs to function, but low carb cuts out a crapload of sugar, and makes your body burn fat instead of burning carbs.) I have done low carb a few times in the past, and I get good results. It makes me eat more vegetables and protein and drink more water. It is hard for the first few days, but after that it gets easy. (And on days where I can't do low carb for some reason, like when I go to California next week, I will be using Sensa. No comments on Sensa either, ok?)

I am doing this for myself, not because anyone told me to. Also, I am not doing this because I think I'm fat. I am not fat. I never said I was. But I also am not skinny. And I will not ever be skinny. Even when I was in the best shape of my life, when I was a synchronized swimmer and in the pool 12 hours a week, I was not skinny. I am me, and I just want to fit into my clothes and be a little bit healthier. Ok? That's it.

And I'm going to need help with this, to keep me on track! Don't let me fail, readers of my blog!

Peace Out!

Wearing Wednesday, Thoughtful Thursday, all brought to you by Five Things Friday.

Well, it hasn't even been one week, and my plan to blog every day has failed. FAILED. I even remember thinking, I need to post on my blog. Then I'd get on my computer and think, eh, better not.
So here I am, making up the last few days, since I was too lazy to actually post on those days.

Wearing Wednesday:

So, I actually wore this on Thursday (shhhh!) but I'm going to post it anyways.

This is what I wore on the 4th of July! Yay!

What I'm Wearing:
Dress: Savers
Necklace: Christmas Present (from JC Penny)
Scarf: my Mom's closet
Belt: off an old shirt
Shoes: my Mom's closet

I loved that this had a totally retro/vintage look to it. I just got the dress Monday at Saver's (for $3.50!) and I thought with the red and blue accents, it was perfect! This dress is my new favorite, I think! It's super lightweight, so it's perfect for these Arizona summers, but can easily be layered for Utah winters! Ah, I love it!

Thoughtful Thursday:

So, I finished my first tie that I'm actually sending off! It is super awesome! So I'm sending it to Jake, of course! I was just going to send him the tie and maybe a couple of other things in a small package, but my mom had a flat-rate shipping box she wasn't going to use, so the package ended up being so much bigger than I planned. In fact, I haven't even filled it yet!
I would like to take a moment to thank Pinterest for helping me come up with ideas for this package. And I would like to return the favor and show what I put, with the cheesy sayings to go along with everything, you know, just in case there are people like me who need inspiration.

I went with the theme of "Summer Fun" because, well, it's summer, and it is such an easy theme!

(I don't know why this pic is upside-down...) This is the tie I made!  :) The note says "So you look cool this summer!"

"You are one 'Hot Tamale' of a missionary!" (I'm not sure if you are supposed to call missionaries "hot tamales", but whatever.)

"You already have the Light of Christ in your eyes, you don't need sunlight in your eyes too!" Can you believe these are Dollar Store sunglasses? I should have gotten myself some...

Tootsie Rolls, inside the water bottle as a little surprise! "I hope you're on a roll!"

"The armor of God doesn't protect you from UVA/UVB." (I don't even know if Jake is riding a bike or driving a car... if its a car, this won't be very helpful. :P)

"I am a huge fan of the work you are doing!"

"Chews the right!" Haha, punny!

"I 'mint' to tell you, you are an amazing missionary!" (Alright, so I actually tell him that in every letter, but I couldn't think of anything else to say...)

"Soak yourself in the spirit!" on one side, and "Have a 'ball' on your mission!" on the other. I don't even know if he will use these water balls or water balloons, but they are summery.

I decided to throw in extra batteries for the fan. "You've got the Power!"

BUBBLES! (I almost didn't put these in. I LOVE bubbles.) "Don't let anyone burst your bubble!"
"Drink water. Don't die. Ok? Ok." I was running out of creative juice at this point....
I thought this was super clever! I turned a Pay Day bar into a P-Day bar! Heehee!
So, if you have any ideas of other things to throw in, let me know! (Of course, I'm sending a letter with the package!) I'm pretty much super excited to send this!

Five-Things Friday:

Here are five of my favorite movies. In no particular order, since my very favorite changes from day-to-day.

1) Tangled
Disney, great music, princess who is a total spazz, most attractive Disney male EVER.... What more do you need?

2) Hairspray
Poofy dresses, big hair, singing and dancing, John Travolta in drag,  James Marsden AND Zac Efron.  Yes. Just Yes.

3) Enchanted
My dream wedding dress, singing, talking animals, animation AND live action, James Marsden, Peter Pettigrew. :)

4) 27 Dresses
Dresses, humor, James Marsden (Am I sensing a pattern here?), she ends up with the cuter guy, and weddings.
5) Pitch Perfect
Singing, dancing, Fat Amy, Skylar Astin, SOCK PUPPETS. Aca-amazing!

Well, it was even hard to narrow this list to five. Maybe next week I'll do my next five favorite movies. Just because there are so many more! :)

Anyways, thanks for reading this incredibly long blog post. You are good people. I like you.

Peace out!
