First Day Of School! :)

So, I know this is a few days late, but I promised a "first-day-of-school" outfit! :) So, here it is!

Yeah, the pictures suck, but I make do with my crappy camera and horribly lit dorm room. :P
This first week of school has been a BLAST! I have loved every moment up here! Everyone is so nice, I just wish I were brave enough to go up to random people and talk to them like one of my friends. Don't get me wrong, I am a very social person! I love talking to everyone! But for some reason, the thought of walking up to a random stranger and introducing myself is scary! If someone comes up to me first, I will always talk to them (unless they are a total creeper, if you know what I mean...)
So, all of my classes are great and all of the girls in my dorm are so fun! I already can tell I'm going to be pretty close to all of them. :)

So, want to hear my first embarrassing story from up here? Yes? Alright, good, cause I'm telling you anyways! :)

So, I was in the Cannon center (the cafeteria place for my dorm) getting some dinner on Sunday. On Sunday, they only serve one long meal, so to get our money's worth, my roommate and I decided to just kinda hang out in there and stuff our faces. So I was getting round two of food. I was over at the salad bar and I reached for something and knocked my glass over. The glass I had just filled up with smoothing/slushie stuff. And so it went all over the food in the salad bar. So the girl working there just said she would clean it up and so I went back to my roommate. I told her about this as I started putting all my old dishes on my tray. Then we saw a group of guys sitting and decided to go sit with them. So I stand up, and all of my dirty utinsels jump off of my tray, onto the floor. (Yes, jump, not fall.) So I have to pick them up. Then we get over to the boys and start talking to them. We are introducing ourselves and when I'm telling them my name, I had just taken a bite of cottage cheese and so when I say my name, I spit it all over my plate.

EMBARRASSING!!!! At least the boys didn't hold it against me, and they still talked to me.
That's another thing I like about college; the boys are so nice. I hope it stays this way.

P.S. I am not engaged, so if anyone made bets, you are losing. I haven't even been out on a date. HAHA SUCKERS!!! :)

College Life

Well, I moved into my dorms for college this week! And I have been meeting people, going to meetings, getting a job, partyin' it up, and all around enjoying life! And that is why I have not posted in a few days. I promise, I will try to blog more in the future. Key word: try. :P

Here are just a few pictures for you to enjoy of my college experience so far.

The pile of all my stuff for college. How it all fit in our van (and my dorm room), the world will never know....

Don't I have the CUTEST bedding ever!? And the cutest stuffed dog. (His name is Husky. One year old me was very creative when naming things apparently...)

I wore this for a meeting to get a job (which is going to be soooo fun!) but I didn't like it that much....

I changed up my outfit just a little, and liked it SOOO much better! It's still too county-ish for me, but its fine.

Heehee! I'm in college!

So that doesn't really say much of anything about my life, but whatever! :)
I am not excited for classes to start on Monday. But my first class is at 11:00, so it's ok, I guess. And that means I can post my First Day of School outfit! :D
I think I'm liking being a grown-up.

Youtube Tuesday

Well, tonight is my last night in Gilbert, Arizona. Tomorrow night I will be in Vegas, and from then on, I will be in Provo. It's so weird to think about. I have lived in Arizona for over 18 years, and even though I could live without the heat, I don't think I can live without all of the amazing people here. The next few days will be the hardest of my life. :(
Everyone keeps saying "Oh, you are going to have so much fun! You will make so many new friends!"
Yes, I know I will have fun.
Yes, I know I will make new friends.
No, that does not make it any easier to leave my current friends.
(And no, I will not be getting married within a month of being up at BYU, despite what my friends think.)

So, here is today's Youtube Tuesday!

This is sooooo funny, and soooo true. (Well, I actually scream NOOOOOOO and change the station as quickly as possible when this song comes on, but close enough!) Haha, this always puts a smile on my face when I watch it! Haha, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

22 Ways to Make a Boring Bag Exciting Using Only a Scarf.

Well, with all my clothes being packed up right now, I have very few blog-worthy outfits. Actually none. So I found this boring bag in my room (actually in a "get-rid-of" pile) and a scarf and knew I could make some magic happen.

So here are 22 ways to dress up a boring bag with a scarf (and a pin in one):

Bag Before:
This is a little denim bag I got in jr. high. Cute, but boring.

Scarf Before:
This is a scarf from my mom's closet. I wore it once, but I dont really like scarves...

#1: The Strap Tie

Tie the sarf on the side of the shoulder strap.

#2: The Strap Bow

Tie the scarf in a bow on the side of the shoulder strap.

#3: The Strap Lace-Up
Lace the scarf around the strap and tie a know on the shoulder.

#4: The Shoulder Knot
Wrap the scarf around the top of the shoulder strap and tie a know on the shoulder.

#5: The Replacement Strap
Ite the ends of the scarf at the each side of the strap and tuck the original strap inside the bag.

#6: The Stap Cover
Same as the Replacement Strap, but leave original strap out.

#7: The Wrap Strap
Tie one end of the scarf to one side of the strap and wrap the scarf around the strap, completely covering it, and tie the other end of the scarf to the other side of the strap.

#8: The Cross Section
Tie one end of the scarf to one end of the strap, wrap scarf around the body of the bag diagonally and tie other end of the scarf to the same side of the strap.

#9: The Almost Cross Section
Like the Cross Section, but you tie the other end of the scarf to the other side of the strap instead of the same one.

#10: The Hanging Out
Like the Replacement strap, except you leave the strap out, and let the scarf hang.

#11: The Loop
Like the Hanging Out except you make a loop and pin it with a brooch or pin.

#12: The Hanging Knot
Like the Hanging Out, except you tie a knot in the scarf.

#13: The Hanging Bow
Like the Hanging Out, except you tie a bow in the scarf.

#14: The Pocket Bow
Tie a bow in the scarf and tuck one end in each side pocket. (If no side pocket, then pin to each side of the bag)

#15: The Double Pocket Knot
Tie two knots in the scarf and tuck either end of the scarf in a side pocket leaving the know hanging out. (If no side pockets, then pin to bag.)

#16: the Pocket Tuck
Tuck the scarf into a pocket leaving the ends sticking out.

#17: The Single Pocket Knot
Fold the scarf in half and tie a knot in it. Tuck the scarf into the pocket leaving the knot and ends hanging out.

#18: The Zipper Knot
Pull the scarf through the zipper of the bag or pocket in the bag and tie a knot. (If the scarf doesn't fit through the zipper, try adding a key ring to the zipper.)

#19: The Zipper Triple Knot
Like the Zipper Knot, except tie three knots in the scarf.

#20: The Zipper Low-Bow
Like the Zipper Knot, except tie a bow low on the scarf.

#21: The Zipper Bow

Like the Zipper Knot, except tie a bow at the top of the scarf.

#22: The Knot-y Zipper
Like the Zipper Knot, except tie knots until you run out of scarf.

Well there you have it! 22 ways to dress up a boring bag with a scarf. I know there are probably a bunch more, but this is what I came up with. If you have other ideas, I would love to see them! :)

The Devil...I mean Dentist...

I hate going to the dentist. I would rather jump off the Grand Canyon in the middle of a thunderstorm than go to the dentist. (Ok, so I would definitely NOT do that, seeing as it combines my two biggest fears, but you get the idea.) I hate the dentist so much because my mouth ALWAYS hurts after, even when I just get a cleaning. This is because they always shove that little scrape-y thing in between my two front teeth, and all my teeth shift around. I mean hey, I (well, my parents) paid good money to have that gap fixed and then you go and recreate it and give my retainers the hardest job of their lives to fix it. Ugh. And on top of that, my teeth just suck. Everytime I go to the Dentist, I have a cavity. You know when you're a little kid and they give you a sticker or prize for being cavity free? Well, I never got one. So today, I had to get my cavities filled. Which brings me to my second hate of the day...
I HATE GETTING NUMB FOR CAVITIES. Yeah, not only does the numbing do nothing to stop the pain, but then I can't feel my lip for the next two hours and coming off of the Novocain feels like I'm dying. It's worse than child-birth probably. (I wouldn't know, since I have no children, but I bet it is worse.) I don't know, maybe there is just something wrong with me. So, I always ask the dentist for no Novocain. And he tells me, "Alright, but if you feel any pain at all, you let me know and we'll give you the Novocain." Ha, I can deal with a sharp pain for two seconds if it means no numbing.
In short, today I got two cavities filled with no Novocain. And I wore a Blog-worthy outfit. (Although, my face is far from Blog-worthy today.)

So a few things about this outfit:

- I have packed up 90% of my clothing, leaving only things to wear for the next week. I didn't have any rhyme or reason to what I kept unpacked, so I'm glad some things I picked actually go together.

-This shirt. Oh, this shirt. The first time I saw it was in a picture on an ad that Charlotte Russe sent to my email. The moment I saw it, I knew I had to have it. But, I could NOT find it ANYWHERE on their website. I did find it in a store a couple weeks later, but they did not have my size. They called another mall that I was going to the next day to see if they had it. Apparently that store didn't even have the shirt in stock at all. So a few days later I went to a third store, which didn't have my size either, but they had one close to my size, so I could at least try it on to see if it was worth finding. And it was. So they called two other stores before finding one in my size. My mom drove me 45 minutes to get this darn shirt. And I still love it to this day. :)

-These shorts. My mom had me go to Walmart to pick up some Pizza sauce, and being a girl, I couldn't help but check the clothing. I normally don't ever buy clothes from Walmart, but I saw a rack of knee-length denim shorts. I definitely need longer shorts for BYU, so I looked through them, and to my surprize, they had one pair of Cobalt blue shorts. In one size smaller than me. :( And I have a pair of denim shorts, so I started to just walk away. But, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a flash of this minty-greenish-whatever-color-this-is. I ran to the other side of the rack and lo-and-behold, one pair of shorts in this color. IN MY SIZE! The heavens parted and angels started singing their joyous strains as I picked them up and ran to the dressing room. So I came home with these amazing shorts (and pizza sauce too). I just hope and pray that they are long enough for BYU standards.

In other news, today is my last day as a red-head. I have no money to actually keep up with the red, so I'm going back to my natural color tomorrow, so I won't have to worry about roots. :( Sad day. Also, one of my friends that I have known since I was two got engaged last night. So happy day for her. :)

Youtube Tuesday (Late, oops!)

So I forgot about Youtube Tuesday yesterday. and since my outfit today is very UNblogworthy, I'll just do it today. But first, some random things.

-My friend's blog from my last post does not have 300 followers, it has three, but it told me she had 300, I guess so I would follow it too. :P And three is still more than me.

-I went to Savers yesterday (shocker!) and found an AMAZING Betsey Johnson coat and dress. But uhm, Saver's, I don't want to pay $60 for anything at your store.... BUT today was 50% off of $50 for Savers club members, so I signed up and ran to Savers and waited for it to open and literally ran to the coat and dress (they came together). The dress was a little small (and not modest) so Betsy (friend, not designer, hahahahaha) paid for half of it and took the dress. So I got a Betsey Johnson coat for $15!!

-Thats all I guess....

Here's the video!

Isn't this the BEST song ever! I'm definitely using this pickup line to get boys in college!

It will work, right? Guys like girls who are completely un-original with their pick-up lines, right? ;)

Follow the Leader. (aka Me)

So today, I saw my friend had updated her blog, so I went and looked at it. This was her second post ever, and she is generally a pretty funny gal. And when I was reading her post, I looked to the side and saw that HOLY CRAP she had like 300 followers! 300! And she has had her blog for like four days! I've had mine for a MONTH and have zero followers. Can someone explain this to me PLEASE? I mean, I think I'm funny, and cool, and stylish, but maybe no one else does....

So, I decided to make you guys a deal. You follow my blog, and I will tatoo your name on my face. (Ok I won't do that because I am not a fan of tatoos, especially not face tatoos.) But you should still follow me, because I need some friends in this wonderful blog-world. I also need some complements just to get me through every day. Okay?

Oh, and I'm starting college in two weeks, and will probably look cute enough to actually post outfit pictures more than like once a week. And I will proabably have some great stories to share, too.
So, in conclusion, FOLLOW ME!

Thank you, and have a fantastic week. :)

A Birthday and an Outfit

So today was my best friend, Betsy's, birthday! This girl is serious awesomeness. Juss Sayin. I love her dearly. She had a bunch of people celebrate with her at the Cheesecake Factory. (And I was very sad to find out that the waitresses don't wear the outfit Penny does in the Big Bang Theory....) She told everyone to dress nice, and she had shown me a while ago what she was going to wear. So I wore something about the same level of nice-ness as she did. I think I was overdressed. I had friends there in jeans while I was in my Homecoming dress from last year and what my parent call my "Lady Gaga heels". Haha, oops..... But I still looked good!

By the way, for Homecoming I wore a purple shrug and purple heels. I told you I love purple and teal together! :)
Now you get to see some pictures of me and Betsy! Just because I have nothing else to say!

We made Best Friend shirts. They have Bacon with moustaches and googly eyes. We are so cool.

The backs of our Bacon Moustache Best Friend Shirts. (They say "Kai and Betsy 2012")

Some really hideous shirts from Savers. (She's the one I have Savers dates with!)

This was after a Color Guard performance at I Hop.

This was one of the first pictures of me and Betsy together!:) I met her on Color Guard and she was my bus buddy for competitions and Fall Tour.

This was at MY birthday party. (I know this isn't really both of us, but that is the back of my head, so it kinda is! haha!)

So that is my best friend. The End.

Wait, not the end! I have a quick question: Did anyone watch Synchronized Swimming in the Olympics? Its my favorite part! But that might be because I was a Synchronized Swimmer! (Not nearly good enough for the Olympics, though!) Maybe someday I will do a post about my Synchronized Swimming experience. :)

First Day of School (But Not For Me!)

So Wednesday was the first day of school for my little brothers. Every year, we get new school clothes. So my brothers got new school clothes (picked out by me and my parents, mostly), but here is the thing: both of my brothers are colorblind. So they sometimes come up with strange outfits. (Ex: one time my brother was wearing a purple shirt with some dark blue shorts and came up to me saying, "Look, I'm wearing all purple today!" And he would NOT believe that his shorts were blue until my mom told him.) So I generally, being the self proclaimed fashionista of the family, usually pick out their first day of school outfits. So I did. But my youngest brother decided to wear his first day outfit to Open House (where he can go to all his classes and meet his teachers), and he did not want to re-wear it to school. So I left him to find himself a new outfit. And he almost didn't wear it because I didn't like it. In his words, "If Kai doesn't like it, then it must not be good." (By the way, it wasn't a bad outfit, I just was mad he wasn't wearing the one I picked out for him.)

Here are their outfits! (I took these pictures after school, since I was sleeping when they left! Haha, I love not having school yet!)

Shirt: JC Penny's (random guess), Pants: JC Penny's (random guess) Shoes: Vans

Shirt: Uhhhh....I want to say Savers? Haha, I have no idea. Shorts: Tilly's (I know that for sure!) Shoes: Vans

Aren't they just the cutest? ;) Sorry ladies, they aren't 16 yet. (Although Brother #1 will be in a month and a few days! AH! Crazy!!)
So do you still take first day of school pictures? I will be on my first day of class in less than three weeks! (Again, AH! Crazy!!) I don't even have it picked out yet, which is wierd since I normally have it picked out months in advance! So make sure you check back to see my First Day of School outfit! :) (You are more than welcome to check back before then too!)
